MINIMIUM PAY RATE: $13.00 per hour

EBC Mission:
The mission of the Joliet Junior College Entrepreneur & Business Center (EBC) is to support both start-ups and existing small business success by providing no-cost mentoring, training/education and advisory services to promote economic development in Community College District 525.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, faculty, and community members who visit the EBC through greetings, answering questions, and taking messages.
2.Assist EBC staff with client meetings, seminars and roundtables by taking notes, scheduling, assisting with follow, research and presenting.
3.Assist with hosting EBC sponsored events, in-person and virtually. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, assisting with event preparation, set-up, clean-up, decorating, food set-up and serving, checking-in visitors, moving equipment and supplies, setting up and running technology and other tasks as assigned.
4.Assist with EBC communications including to clients, partners and social media.
5.Attend and represent the EBC at community and networking events to meet with potential and existing clients and partners.
6.Design marketing for EBC events including flyers, brochures, banners, bulletin boards, monthly calendars, and free-standing signs. These efforts include, but are not limited to, print media, digital media, handwritten signs, social media, videos, personal outreach, and other creative marketing efforts.
7.Support EBC staff with office duties including department errands, filing, making copies, maintaining resources, organizing, and other related tasks.
8.Work occasional evening and weekend events when requested. Hours and days will vary.
9.Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1.High school diploma or equivalent.
2.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
3.Ability to take personal initiative and work as a team player.
4.Personable, respectful, responsible, and creative.
5.Familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
6.Familiar with Social Media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter & Snapchat.
7.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
8.Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experienced with publishing software (Publisher, Canva and Photoshop preferred).
2. Knowledge of college resources.
3. Ability to write legibly.
4. Ability to work on-campus.
5. English, Spanish and/or other languages verbal and written communication proficiency.
6. Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Moving throughout campus, walking and standing for periods of time.
2. Lifting and moving supplies up to 50 pounds.
3. Climbing on ladders on occasion is also required.
