Position Summary
Spencer Stuart is seeking a Analyst for Travel, for a new role within the Procurement team. This individual will play a central role in communicating and collaborating with travelers, travel arrangers, travel vendors and other stakeholders, to drive outcomes for smoother processes and improved spend management. This will involve analytical, project management, and relationship skills.
An ideal candidate will be able to work independently, manage multiple conflicting priorities and handle a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Procurement
The Procurement Department is the resource for purchasing or managing the procurement of products and services in North America, EMEA, Latin America and Asia Pacific, for both Spencer Stuart and Kincentric. The main function is to create cost savings while ensuring transparency and accountability in the procurement process. Travel is one of Spencer Stuart's largest categories of spend, but it has not historically been centrally managed within the firm.

Reports to: Director of Procurement
Coordinates with:
- Other members of the Procurement team
- Internal travelers, internal travel arrangers
- Administrative, Meetings & Events, and Learning & Development teams
- Key stakeholders in Accounting
Interacts with:
- Key stakeholders in Tax, Law, Sustainability
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders as a trusted advisor
- Regularly meets and communicates with stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities, and report on the progress of process improvements, projects and initiatives
- Trouble shoots issues with a sense of urgency
- Conducts analysis of spend patterns, travel volumes and emissions metrics to assess and prioritize opportunities
- Monitors the travel industry to assess trends and solutions
- Develops business cases to communicate insights and recommendations
- Manages travel vendors (agencies, booking tools, air carriers, hotel chains, ground transportation providers, etc.)
- Monitors and manages travel processes from end to end (policy, profiles, bookings, data integrations, etc.)
- With Procurement team support, negotiates, creates, modifies, renews, terminates contracts as required
- Recognizes trade-offs between meeting traveler needs, creating value, reducing costs, and mitigating risks
- Develops and issues regular and ad-hoc reports
- Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations
- Supports the evolution of Travel Procurement functions towards globalization, as well as the standardization and automation of tactical activities

Ideal Experience
- Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience as an analyst
- Bachelor's degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
