Job Description

LOCATION: Lemont, IL (on-site at the customer's location)

SUMMARY: BCF is looking for an experienced Project Manager to support our client at Argonne National Laboratory (ANL).  Work is focused on serving as the Infrastructure Services (IS) Directorate Business Partner. IS has over 55 services in ServiceNow and 100 software applications that require continual monitoring, revisions, and prioritization. In addition, there are new projects and initiatives that need assistance with requirements and solution assessments, design and implementation.

Typical activities from a project manager with this role may include but is not limited to the following:
Serve as IS directorate primary point of contact for setting and prioritizing the the portfolio of IS applications and service backlogs.
Facilitate and leads the decision making for any system enhancements, system integrations, policy, services, or process interpretation, identifies issues, assesses impacts, and recommend solutions.
Analyze and document business application requirements (features) in collaboration with application owners.
Coordinates efforts between the IS application owners, BIS scrum teams working on IS applications, and IS/BIS leadership, to implement the IS directorate’s business application and software strategic plan.

The following are more detailed responsibilities:
Provide leadership, coordination, and strategic planning of laboratory IS technology solutions to accomplish short and long-range laboratory and IS directorate objectives.
Provide a strong technical and customer service relationship with broader lab business systems and services owners to achieve operational excellence and effective strategic planning.
Contribute to the design of core IS process technology solutions.
Lead the development and implementation of the IS directorate’s business applications, services, and software strategic plan.
Coordinate efforts between BIS scrum teams working on IS applications, IS and BIS leadership, IS Service Owners, and IS software application owners in order to implement the IS directorate’s business application, services, and software strategic plan.
Serve as management support and champion representing software application owners and service owners to drive BIS support to troubleshoot and repair issues and defects with IS software and services.
Oversee creation and maintenance of software description documents, high-level requirements documents, user acceptance testing documents, and other IS software application documentation to ensure effective and efficient software application lifecycle management.
Monitor incidents/requests that have not been fulfilled or completed to satisfaction
Manage and maintain the IS division software lifecycle including contract due dates, funding source and align those that are similar
Identify the correct business owners for services and applications
Work with business owners to translate business goals and end user needs into product strategies to support their applications and services.
Create and maintain a backlog, write user stories, and manage releases.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum bachelor’s degree in an engineering, data science or other related technical field.
Required certification as a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and/or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).
10+ years of experience, at least 7 of which are as an IT Project Manager
Minimum 5 years working as a Product Owner/Business Analyst using Agile methodologies
Experience with objectively prioritizing competing initiatives
Experience with ServiceNow is highly desired.
Experience with management of various software applications
Experience with service management and delivery, including KPI’s and SLA’s, preferred
Experience documenting business requirements and translating them into Features and Epics
Ability to work well with others in a team environment
Interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management and staff in both research and development and operations divisions/directorates
Experience with management of various software applications including custom software development, packaged software implementations, cloud-based apps, desktop support, etc.
Experience with service management and delivery
Strong problem resolution skills, along with customer service and team orientation skills
