As an integral member of our Software Development team, you will collaborate closely with members of cross-functional project teams, assisting in designing, building, and maintaining of websites and applications with optimized user experience. In addition, you will be responsible for the creation and administration of Git repositories, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps and Cloud resources.

Position responsibilities will be split between leading DevOps administration as a primary role and some development work. You will manage both non-production and production environments. Additional responsibilities include participation in monthly Infrastructure patching, helping to plan deployments, package SQL scripts and all artifacts, not limited to codebases as part of CI/CD, so the same type of deployment happens across environments.

Ideal candidates bring a minimum of four years of proven experience with full-stack development particularly in a .NET environment, as well as in depth Microsoft Azure DevOps and Azure Cloud experience. Position requires a highly collaborative, analytical, and forward-thinking self-starter, who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This is a Chicago based position with hybrid flexibility.

 Responsibilities

  • Administer Git repositories. Architect and troubleshoot branching and merging patterns.
  • Create build pipelines, releases, repos in Azure DevOps and manage deployment of code to Microsoft Azure cloud hosted solutions.
  • Write and interpret functional requirement documents and specifications.
  • Author API’s and implement SQL Server database solutions using Entity Framework and .NET Core.
  • Identify, recommend, and prioritize new user interface features and applications in conjunction with end-user requirements or business needs.
  • Coach new team members on best practices for navigating non-production and production environments.
  • Collaborate with other Technology teams (Infrastructure/Architecture/Data) as well as outside vendors, to ensure recommendations are implemented into final products.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in human-computer interaction, graphic design, information technology, computer science or related fields or equivalent knowledge and minimum four years of work experience.

  • Highly effective time management, organizational, problem-solving and priority setting skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Flexible and resilient; ability to work well under pressure, within fast-paced and fluid environment.
  • Strong experience working with Microsoft Azure DevOps build and release pipelines in both classic and YAML, GitHub actions.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, and OAuth
  • Full-stack development skills highly desirable.
  • Experience designing, developing, and managing web applications using C#, ASP.NET, Visual Studio 2017+, .NET 4.0+, IIS 7.5+.
  • Experience in designing OOP classes and solutions using dependency injection pattern.
  • Experience leading architecture level discussions in .NET/C# and public cloud solutions.
  • Familiarity with APM tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Application Insights is highly desired.
  • Strong Unit Testing skills (nUnit or xUnit).
  • Willingness to share knowledge and best practices.                                                                                                                   
  • Experience with release management and source code management systems.
  • Strong technical aptitude.

Desired Additional Skills/Experience

  • Experience with content management systems and web publishing tools (Kentico CMS).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012+ including experience with stored procedures, triggers.
  • Experience with current front-end development frameworks Angular, React, Vue, or jQuery.
