Our Client in Rockford, IL is looking for a full time

Machine Builder. Hiring on 1st shift with a

Monday – Friday work schedule and ability to travel.

Responsibilities:

+ Mechanical assembly inspection using the following tools: Electronic level, Dial Indicators, Precision Gauge Blocks, hydraulic jack, chains, slings, spreader bars and blocks for lifting, feeler gauge, precision wire, and electronic micrometer, alignment bars, load cells, square, dynamometer, pins for rack alignment, straight edge

+ Calculate correct shim sizes based on geometrical check results during alignment and document this calculation inside the inspection book.

+ Move heavy components with an overhead crane for complex structure: select lifting equipment based on weight, choose anchoring points for correct lifting/rolling sequence

+ Align mechanical components through wire, scope, HP laser and/or spreader bars

+ Level mechanical components through electronic levels and/or straight edges

Requirements:

+ Ability to do paid travel with per diem 30% of the time annually

+ Have your own tools-will provide complete tool list

+ Ability to calculate linear deviations starting from angles and vice versa to calculate machine geometry accuracy (straightness, positioning, squareness) following ASME & VDI standards

+ Ability to read assembly tolerance requirements and identify the correct tools to meet these requirements

+ Knowledge of the following tools is considered a plus: laser for machine straightness, positioning and squareness for linear and rotary axis, hydraulic tubing bender
