+ Department: Mission Services

+ Schedule: FT, Days, 40 hrs a week, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, but it also requires to work as part of a team to rotate night on-call and weekend coverage with other chaplains. Priests will be expected to work regularly on Sundays.

Responsibilities

Provide religious and spiritual care and counsel for emotional and spiritual distress to patients, their families, associates and others with attention to diverse spiritual orientations and cultures

+ Provide pastoral care to the local ministry and community through performing sacraments, rituals, blessings and liturgies.

+ Participate and collaborate with others in the delivery of holistic patient care.

+ Build and maintain relationships with patients, families and associates through regular visitations and communication in order to create spiritual and religious connections.

+ Mentor Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) students and fellows.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

+ Board Certification from the APC, NACC, CASC, or the NAJC at time of hire or obtained within 2 years of hire or risk of termination if not obtained within two years. For those not board certified at time of hire or job transfer, ecclesiastical endorsement is required.

Education:

+ Master s Degree in Divinity, Theology, or a related field from an accredited school is required.

+ 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the ACPE is required.

Work Experience:

+ 3-5 years of healthcare experience as a chaplain is preferred.

Additional Preferences

Maters in Theology, Pastoral Studies, Religion, or Divinity from an accredited theology program. Four units of clinical pastoral education from an accredited program and be certified through the NACC, APC, NAJC, or NAVAC or willingness to get certified within 2 years from hiring date. Candidate will be expected to work in both, acute care and the behavioral health settings. Due to the need to attend to sacraments, a Catholic Priest will be preferred, but other candidates will also be considered.
