General Information & Responsibilities
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for working with the Director of Marketing and Public Relations to develop positive internal and external communications that builds the image of the College in the community and enhances the value of our brand.
Description of Duties
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
+ Provides marketing and public relations support to all areas of the College with emphasis on supporting East Campus.
+ Plans and writes creative marketing content for the website, social media, native advertising, TV monitors and marketing campaigns as assigned, including student and employee interviews and human interest stories.
+ Writes content for a college blog to communicate with and attract new and prospective students.
+ Develops and manages a brand ambassadors program involving current employees and students.
+ Assists with market research including surveys, questionnaire development, focus groups, and respondent data entry, tabulating and reporting results and monitoring outcomes of marketing and advertising efforts.
+ Assists in planning and executing marketing and public relations special events such as news conferences, ground breakings and ribbon cuttings as assigned.
+ Manages advertising campaigns for minimester, online and summer registration directed at students enrolled at public universities.
+ Reviews marketing material and web site content to improve search engine optimization.
+ Edits videos and photographs prior to publishing.
+ Manages inventory and budget of branded merchandise and fulfill orders by internal customers as requested.
DESCRIPTION OF OTHER DUTIES:
+ Serves as backup for processing Freedom of Information Act requests.
+ Assists with emergency notifications and situations, such as College closings, as assigned.
+ Annually reviews brand standards guidelines and makes recommendations for updates as needed.
+ Photographs and/or videos at college events to promote the College on the web site, social media and other platforms as assigned.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)
+ Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field required.
+ Minimum two years’ experience in marketing, public relations or related field required.
+ Excellent interpersonal, written and presentation skills required.
+ Demonstrated understanding of traditional, e.g., TV, cable, print, and digital marketing, e.g., social media, SEO, photography and videography, geo-fencing and site retargeting.
+ Proficiency in MS Office, video and photography editing software required.
+ Functional knowledge of Wordpress preferred.
