Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Direct and drive operations team to achieve safety, quality, throughput, on-time delivery, cost, and inventory goals.
  • Drive improvements in quality and operational efficiencies using the ITW Toolbox and other lean manufacturing
  • Lead projects to simplify internal processes.
  • Work with the Customer Service Manager and Engineering Manager to resolve customer needs.
  • Define and establish objectives in the areas of safety, quality, and throughput, including developing specific short-term and long-term plans which may include budget and capital requests.
  • Drive simplification and capability improvements with newly installed ERP system.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers and third party build vendors.
  • Support new product development processes and lead operational aspect of new product introductions.
  • Use sales/inventory metrics to create operational plans and effectively manage working capital.
  • Effectively hire and develop a diverse team of talent.
  • Keep employees informed as to company/department plans and performance progress.
  • Manages 5+ Operations and Sourcing professionals in a fast-paced, dynamic organizational environment

 

Required Minimum Position Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering,

Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or related engineering field; and 5 years of experience in job offered or in an engineering occupation. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) and 5 years of experience, employer will also accept a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or related engineering field; and 3 years of experience in job offered or in an engineering occupation.

 

Position also requires demonstrated experience in the following:           

  • Manufacturing management experience, including supervision of engineering operations and engineering personnel
  • P&L experience
  • Operational excellence competencies (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Kaizen, and Poke Yoke)
  • Engineering project management
  • VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering)
  • Global sourcing
  • Automation systems
