Apex Systems, the Nation's 2nd largest Technical Staffing and Services Firm, has an opening for Equipment Validation Lead for a large medical device company in Waukegan, IL for a 6 contract duration + possibility for extension!

Equipment Validation Lead

This position is NonExempt.

  • This role will provide tactical leadership within the Operations Engineering organization.
  • Ensures engineering readiness to support production and product transfer activities.
  • May represent engineering during internal and external company business meetings.
  • Works within the company Quality Management System.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides engineering leadership: Validations; New process and equipment design and development to support new product offerings
  • Process and equipment design for manufacturing locations
  • Scrap reduction
  • Responsible for driving exceptional engineering response with respect to Resolution of production equipment issues
  • Corrective and Preventative Action Items; Leads and/or assists in the determination of product/process failure root causes potentially related to manufacturing processes.
  • Maintains the cadence for assigned equipment validations and presents periodic updates to management.
  • Responsible for leading, coaching, and performance management of the Engineering Department Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervises Engineering department staff comprised of engineers and technicians.
  • Assists in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the engineering group.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and managing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Basic Qualifications/Education

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering
  • Minimum of 2-years direct experience in providing engineering support to production.
  • Some experience managing equipment design and development as relates to automation, fixtures, set-up reduction.
  • Prior experience in facility design and layout and/or cellular manufacturing preferable

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cGMP's and FDA regulations as pertains to process engineering.

Competencies

  • Strong leadership, development, interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, and ability in leading, developing and managing cross-functional teams
