Job Summary:

The Real Estate teams review collateral files for completeness, prepare and file missing legal documentation to perfect the collateral, and assist multiple internal departments with the disposition of collateral such as Releases, Special Credits, Outside Counsel and Concierge Closing teams. The teams are also responsible for submitting real estate documents for recording, ensuring timely receipt and review of recorded documentation and final title policies, and managing the notary and sworn document process, including quality control. As the Real Estate Collateral Process Manager, you will report to and work closely with the Real Estate Collateral Product Owner and be accountable for identifying process efficiencies across the teams and sites, developing and influencing upstream processes to promote a complete and an accurate landscape, along with managing projects and remediation initiatives.

The scope spans across lines of business, internal WLS teams, and loan systems. The Process Manager ensures consistency, maximizes efficiency and maintains effective controls over the collateral type. This role involves coordination with multiple groups including lines of business, operations centers, legal, integration management and risk & controls.

Job Responsibilities:

+ Possesses a thorough knowledge of real estate as collateral security with a keen insight to the end-to-end process in order to ensure consistency (as appropriate) across lines of business

+ Collaborates with the Operational Risk group to document action plans and implement appropriate operating model changes related to the issue

+ Coordinates data scrubs and related activities to ensure audit preparedness

+ Evaluates whether operating model changes are needed to enhance control and data processes

+ Coordinates and approves changes in systems and/or operating model that will impact processes and procedures

+ Responsible for assisting in the review and attestation to all standard operating procedures, job aids, and process maps and ensures all impacted parties are involved in the review and communicating changes

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

+ 3 – 5+ years of commercial banking/lending experience, loan documentation or collateral perfection experience

+ Demonstrated, well-rounded leadership with 2+ years in leadership roles in Financial Services (or comparable industries), Credit, Service/Operations, and/or Commercial/Business Banking with proven ability to make appropriate decisions in a high-volume environment.

+ Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships with ability to influence the development and execution of key risk and operational strategies and projects with proven communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to present to varied and large audiences, including senior executive updates

+ Demonstrated ability identify and calculate cost savings (business case development), to direct capacity planning/project allocation and coordinate/plan daily production pipeline

+ Established background in promoting a proactive risk culture and driving control initiatives, including knowledge of regulatory requirements

+ Exceptional analytical, project management, decision-making and problem resolution skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

+ Bachelor’s Degree in business or legal related field

+ Experience with related credit systems such as Strategy, ARC/iCRD, iVault, DealWorks, etc.

+ Commercial/high volume credit operations experience in conventional, real-estate and/or Small Business Administration loans (SBA)

+ Knowledge of the Firm’s or similar financial institution’s credit policy
