About the Role:

The Sr. Project Manager, Engineering will be responsible for collaboratively developing, assessing, planning, and executing multiple large strategic capital projects using our capital Initiative Management process. The role will also ensure that the project team’s technical capability exists to deliver assigned capital programs. The position will report to the Sr. Manager of Engineering for our Coffee, Aseptic, Ready to Drink and Tea Business Unit and will be assigned simultaneous, complex projects at multiple locations across North America. The projects will require the management of internal and external cross functional resources in a matrix organization. We are looking for a proven dynamic, inclusive leader with excellent communication and project management skills to drive these important initiatives for TreeHouse.

Collaboratively develop, assess, plan, and execute multiple large strategic capital projects simultaneously at multiples locations within North America

Lead teams to ensure all aspects of assigned capital projects are managed following our Capital Initiative Management program.

Responsible for the team’s project KPIs including safety, food safety, environmental impacts, operational impacts, adherence to scope, CQV performance, tracking against acceptance/performance criteria, on time delivery, cash flow, and overall budget tracking.

Partner with capital sourcing manager to develop procurement strategies on assigned projects and execute them

Lead team to develop and review business case screening scopes, schedules, and estimates on strategic ideas – Review with leadership to provide a directional view of projects; ultimately lead process through approval on prioritized projects.

Mentor, coach, and lead team members, both internal and external, to ensure resources meet project needs.

Work cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, EHS, Trans & Warehousing, Supply Planning, Technical Services, Reliability and Maintenance, Environmental, Sustainability, R&D, Finance, the BU teams, and IT to deliver assigned goals and projects.

Manage internal and external cross functional resources including equipment vendors, construction contractors, third party engineering services, local / state / federal government agencies, and co-manufacturing organizations.

Manage all aspects of assigned capital projects. This includes developing project scopes, budgets, schedules, acceptance/performance criteria, and startup curves while ensuring environmental, health, safety, food safety and quality organizations are fully aligned to the scope and construction plans. Prepare and communicate required governance and reporting.

Projects will be delivered ensuring proper internal, local, state, and federal standards and codes are followed.

The individual will be required to lead project teams through conflicts and issues while also knowing when to escalate and ask for help.

This role will help study many strategic ideas which will ultimately require the development and presentation of order of magnitude scopes and screening estimates to Sr. Leadership.

Important Details: This is a full-time position located at our Oak Brook, IL corporate office on a hybrid schedule. There is up to 50% travel requirement for this role.

About You:

You’ll fit right in if you have:

Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, or related field)

8+ years of Project Management experience

A track record of managing several $10M+ capital projects

Expected to demonstrate previous experience leading a single large project through execution and completion of at least $15M of spend

Requires a significant understanding of the business side of a Food Company and must understand sanitary design best practices

Formal project management training or certifications are positives

The candidate must possess excellent leadership and organizational skills and the ability to perform root cause technical problem solving

Strong communication skills; demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization

The ideal candidate will have experience with utility systems, waste water pre-treatments systems, ingredient handling, food processing, and primary and secondary packaging systems.
