Flight Operations

The Flight Operations team includes aircraft pilots and pilot support. Our Flight Operations team works hard to connect people and unite the world safely, reliably and efficiently every single day. Job overview and responsibilities

The Analyst for Pilot Workforce planning will help create, maintain, and communicate the pilot staffing plan for United Airlines. They will participate in creating the annual budget plan for Flight Operations, reforecast the plan on a monthly basis, and make sure that each month’s schedule build achieves our plan. In addition to owning the numerical inputs to the plan, the analysts will be instrumental in communicating the story of the plan. The story of the plan has a large audience, other members in Crew Resources, broader Flight Operations teams, Finance and Network Planning business partners, and senior leadership.

+ Develop our monthly schedule with Pairings and PBS teams

+ Develop and maintain reporting/KPIs that tells the story of the plan

+ Analyze how the plan performed using relevant KPIs to determine any adjustments necessary to future planning

+ Communicate past and expected future performance to relevant stakeholders

+ Perform ad hoc analysis related to what-if scenarios (e.g. new pilot contract, adjusted AC deliveries)

Qualifications

Required

+ Bachelor’s degree in Aviation/Aeronautics, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Logistics/Transportation or related field, or 4 years of relevant work experience

+ 2+ years experience in related role

+ 2+ years management level experience

+ Excel proficiency, strong data analysis, querying and modelling skills, leadership, communication, presentation development skills

+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

+ Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

+ Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

+ Workforce/Resource planning experience

+ Analyst level in financial planning, workforce planning, or process improvement fields

+ Programming language experience
