What you will learn and contribute to
The key responsibilities of the Patent Specialist/Senior Patent Specialist will include, but are not limited to the following:
Train inventor community on invention generation.
Assess invention submissions to make first filing decisions.
Engage in drafting patent applications, preparing responses to office actions across various jurisdictions, overlook external associate work.
Mine patent portfolio on valuable IP assets to leverage in licensing.
Prepare claim charts to products in wireless infrastructure and adjacent industry Markets
(Automotive-, Energy-, (I)IoT-, IT- Industry, Internet Web Service Providers) for the
sake of licensing and litigation.
Consult in 3rd party patent assertions and litigations against Nokia and customers.
The Patent Specialist/Senior Patent Specialist appointment is key within the IP Department of Nokia. The person appointed will have the opportunity to achieve considerable success within this long established and well-respected organisation. Your skills and experience

The successful candidate will ideally possess:
Master's degree in electrical engineering, telecommunication, computer science or Information Technology.
A fundamental understanding of wireless communication infrastructure standards (4G/5G/ORAN/5GAv) and respective Product Technologies (RF HW, MIMO, SoC, Base Band, MIMO, RAN, O&M, Cloud RAN, applied AI/ML in wireless products).
Deep knowledge of Nokia's and/or third-party products and the respective technical implementations would be considered advantageous.
European or National Patent Attorney or Patent Agent full or partial qualification would be considered as advantageous. The position is however similarly open to skilled inventors or junior professionals with the personal drive to become a fully qualified patent attorney.
An approachable, "team-player" attitude and confidence in interaction with product research and development colleagues and others across the business and with externals.
Ability to prioritise effectively and work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Commercial awareness and interest in Nokia's proprietary technologies.
Fluency in English as the working language of the company; Finnish, French or German skills would be considered advantageous.
