ARA is seeking experienced civil engineers with specialization in pavement engineering to work full-time for our Transportation Infrastructure Division office in Champaign, IL. Remote work is available for the ideal candidate.
Our engineers are actively involved in all aspects of the profession, which includes problem solving, using subject matter knowledge and innovation to offer high-quality solutions to our clients, marketing to bring in new business, and writing winning proposals.
Travel is required for business development purposes, and this position may also require travel to project sites and on-site work at client offices. Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for badging/access to project sites.
What you will do as a principal pavement engineer:
Serve as a subject matter expert in pavement engineering, including pavement design, condition assessment, and pavement management.
Perform business development tasks to grow your professional network, provide technical presentations at conferences/local area meetings and for potential clients, etc.
Develop and lead marketing initiatives to learn about potential customers and educate them on ARA's services.
Lead successful proposal writing efforts in response to RFPs/RFQs and other solicitations.
Lead project execution as a project manager/technical advisor.
Ensure on-schedule project delivery, on budget, and interface with others to resolve any challenges.
Represent yourself, your coworkers, and ARA with professionalism and integrity in all dealings with colleagues and clients.
Principal pavement engineer requirements:
MS or higher in Civil Engineering, from an ABET-accredited/recognized institution.
12+ years of experience in pavement engineering practice.
Professional Engineer license.
Proven record of successful business development and project management, with a project portfolio of at least $500,000/year.
Anticipated salary range: $112,000 to $145,000. Offer may vary depending on experience, skill set, and location.
