Job Description
Ability to operate ARC (Stick) Welding apparatus and MIG/TIG/SAW welding machines, including automated welding manipulators to perform welding operations. Must understand welding methodology to make proper adjustments and set welding machines to weld various grades and thicknesses of steel. Must be able to work in a self-directed work team environment and collaborate with other team member to contribute toward production goals.
· Inspect welding equipment for operational readiness
· Make required measurements to insure compliance with quality standards
· Operate Automated Submerged Arc Welding Machines to weld longitudinal and round-about seams.
· Monitor welding process and flux system to insure proper and consistent penetration is achieved without porosity.
· Operate MIG welding apparatus to spot weld steel materials
· Maintain welding equipment to required specifications
· Maintain flux recovery systems to required specifications
· Maintain fire prevention precautions
· Assemble pre-rolled steel forms in required sequence to make specified pipe length.
· Use common hand tools and powered hand tools to de-burr and clean welds
· Use shims, wedge and chain come-along to mate cans together for tack welding
· Make required measurements to insure compliance with quality standards
· Maintain area free of debris
