Summary
As the Principal R&D Engineer you will be designing and leading the material science related aspects of: change controls, testing, and qualification for disposable devices, pharmaceutical packaging systems and combination products. You will work closely with Baxter's Integrated Supply Chain Organization, supporting programs intended to gain efficiencies throughout Baxter's diverse manufacturing network.

What you'll be doing
Applies in-depth knowledge and technical expertise in the area of polymer science and engineering to optimize and enhance material (thermoplastics and thermosets) properties which in turn improve product performance and cost.
With some direction, responsible for directing and coordinating activities necessary to complete large scale material related value improvement projects while independently leading several small-scale projects.
May provide technical mentoring to entry level engineers and technical personnel.
Timely communicates key information and recommendations to influence technical decisions and strategies.
Define material requirements and develop specifications in accordance with manufacturing, marketing, and customer expectations and design requirements.
Identify and analyze new opportunities that achieve cost effective solutions and satisfy performance requirements.
Seeking and determining new, innovative approaches to solve technical problems on a consistent basis.
Create and communicate project plans, tasks and deliverables and manage time to meet project deadlines. This includes reporting pertinent information at key milestones though clear, concise oral and written communications.
Engage in personal and continuing program of learning in order to broaden knowledge in materials engineering and to gain knowledge in order to improve individual effectiveness.

What you'll bring
A minimum of 5+ years' experience with B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent.
Possess expertise in one or more of the following technical areas: polymer & drug compatibility, polymer chemistry, polymer physics, polymer rheology, polymer adhesion, polymer/rubber formulation, polymer coating, polymer processing, or polymer characterization.
Experience utilizing material characterization tools (i.e. thermal, mechanical, microscopy, optical, rheological, various chemistry analytical (such as HPLC, GCMS, etc.) to solve materials engineering challenges with minimal... For full info follow application link.
