The Forge Engineering Manager reports to the Head of Forging and is responsible for overseeing all Forging Engineering functions including Process, Design, Tooling, and Product Engineering
Develop forge tooling designs for new parts and improve forge tooling designs for existing parts
Communicate and collaborate with customer on full life cycle of parts from conception to testing to serial production
Walk plant floors to observe processes and monitor product from start to finish
Improve the operational performance by identifying quality and customer needs and assisting the staff in identifying and diagnosing customer, process and quality problems
Provide Process Engineering Change notices for internal and external customer design changes
Plan, assign, and distribute work
Establish priorities
Instruct and train in methods and procedures
Your profile
Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Related Field
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing required with at least 1-2 years prior management experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of thermal dynamics and forging processes
Ability to identify areas for process improvement, and implement strategies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality, to drive process enhancements and resolve technical challenges
Knowledge of up-to-date industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in forging with proven track record of incorporating into the manufacturing process
Ability to ensure the feasibility and manufacturability of new products, considering cost, quality, and efficiency aspects
Ability to lead the process qualification and validation activities for new products, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards
Ability to Utilize a host of CAD and office software such as Pro-E, AutoCAD, Vero CAD, Anvil, and Forge3
Excellent written and oral language ability
Strong mathematical ability, especially in trigonometry
