Position Overview

The Tollway is a user-fee system – no state or federal tax dollars are used to support maintenance and operations. Operations are funded by toll and concession revenues. 

 

Under the leadership of the Board of Directors and Executive Staff, the Tollway is committed to achieving the following goals: increase collaboration with regional transportation and planning agencies, promote the regional economy, maintain financial integrity, foster environmental responsibility and sustainability, maintain the safety and efficiency of the Tollway system, further transparency and accountability, enhance customer service, and maintain public trust. 

 

In support of this mission, the EEO Investigator, under direction and supervision of the EEO/AA/ADA Officer, conducts confidential and highly sensitive investigations and reviews to detect, deter, and prevent harassment and discrimination. This position involves working with extremely sensitive and confidential personal information and information associated with investigations and legal proceedings.

 

Essential Job Functions

 

Principle responsibilities include: 

  • Evaluate incoming complaints
  • Conduct investigations, interviews and reviews
  • Gather, analyze and compile relevant evidence
  • Document statements, observations, evidentiary materials, investigative and review activities, and maintain file material in accordance with applicable laws and policies
  • Conduct and analyze legal research
  • Draft confidential reports of findings and recommendations

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to; 

  • Interact with Tollway officials, employees, vendors and the public and prepares intakes
  • Due to the highly confidential nature of this position, the Investigator is expected to preserve and protect the confidentiality of all investigations and the identity of complainants and witnesses
  • May be required to testify, as needed, before any state or federal grand jury, municipal, county, state of federal court or administrative body
  • Research/create/deliver EEO training to management and staff
  • Assist with ADA Accommodation process when required
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the mission of the EEO Office or the duties set forth above
