Description:
This position is a principle contributor in developing specific research project requirements and is responsible for all aspects of the project from development through delivery. Perform complex study and data collection methods. May coordinate and direct the work and research tasks of lower-level research staff.
Research & Protocol Management
*Develop objectives and design of research and data collection procedures.
*Conceptualize, initiate and execute research goals for project.
*Conduct and coordinate advanced research studies.
*Evaluate current developments and research findings to determine their potential applicability to research projects.
*Replicate, refine and add/develop new research approaches based on project needs.
*Manages day-to-day activities of the clinical research team and oversees interaction with clinical partners such as principal investigators, physicians, laboratory team, and staff.
*Monitor and report progress as appropriate; track tasks and deliverables to ensure timelines, milestones and goals are attained.
*Oversee BCC clinic schedule and ensure staff coverage. Assist with patient scheduling and coordination with the applicable department; Triage participants.
*Assist with communication of medical test and lab results to the participant and their health care provider for the purpose of coordinating care.
*Provide patient education on results of medical tests (within scope of licensure/experience) and coordinate for patients to receive education as needed.
*Ensure study activities are completed by following Good Clinical Practices (GCP) , all current local, state, and federal laws, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) and sponsor regulations.
*Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely manner.
*Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for clinical research staff and monitors compliance.
*Plans, develops & implements new processes, policies, and protocols to support research studies and optimize operational capacities
*Demonstrate excellence in participant communication and education (including informed consent), data collection (surveys, clinical testing, etc.), and overall best practices in clinical research.
*Complete accurate, timely, and legible documentation for all participant records
Communications
*Monitor project developments on an ongoing basis and implement changes as needed.
*Prepare, organize and communicate research results.
*Facilitating meetings with appropriate parties.
Staff Management
*Provides supervision of day-to-day research activities and manages administrative considerations including staff workloads and project assignments.
*Implements policies, procedures, and training for clinical research within the department.
*Track and organize training for clinical research team; directs, and assigns duties to clinical research staff.
*Acts as a mentor in regard to education of junior coordinators.
