Quality Supervisor

Location: Manteno, IL

Job type: Direct hire

Shift: 1 st (6AM – 3:15PM; M-F)

Compensation: $65,000 – 70,000

Summary:

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all Quality Control activities and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of analysis results. They will oversee the calibration of instruments, train technicians, verify documentation, and ensure adherence to processing procedures. The Quality Control Supervisor will also ensure that all raw materials meet specifications, products comply with regulatory requirements and customer specifications, and testing results are properly archived. Additionally, they will provide technical support to customers, conduct audits, and participate in various projects.

Responsibilities:

+ Train and oversee Quality Control Technicians on procedures, HACCP, and quality checks.

+ Review and verify daily quality documentation, including test results.

+ Implement corrective actions when necessary.

+ Conduct audits to ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards.

+ Validate sanitation procedures through Environmental Monitoring Procedures (EMP).

+ Evaluate food processing and storage operations and contribute to quality assurance programs.

+ Check and optimize the performance of metal detectors.

+ Monitor product shelf life through chemical and sensory tests.

+ Update specifications and communicate changes to the team.

+ Verify microbiological analysis results and issue Certificates of Analysis (COA).

+ Ensure regulatory and labeling compliance.

+ Provide technical support to customers and handle complaints.

+ Inspect incoming materials for compliance.

+ Perform analytical tests on samples.

+ Assist in food safety employee training programs.

+ Provide feedback in developing SOPs and SSOPs.

+ Participate in special projects such as shelf-life studies and internal audits.

+ Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements:

+ Degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience.

+ Minimum 5 years of experience in Food Processing Quality.

+ Strong statistical and data analysis skills.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication.

+ Strong leadership skills.

+ Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

+ Knowledge of manufacturing environments and practices.
