Job Description

Basic Function

Business Process Architect/Engineer Director is responsible for supporting initiatives across the Tax & Accounting Division. This position reports directly to Vice President Operations, Integration and Transformation and works closely with executive leadership across cross-functional teams to support the strategic plan, financial goals, and operational objectives of the business. The Director Business Process Architect/Engineer is responsible for implementing modern business processes and integration architecture by working closely with Business Process Owners, Enterprise Architects, and delivery teams. To accomplish this, the Director Business Process Architect/Engineer will have to develop a deep understanding TAA business and strategies. In addition, the Director Business Process Architect/Engineer will be responsible for managing the backlog of back-office enhancement and change requests.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

+ Work closely with the Business Process Owners to evaluate and document existing business processes using interviews, workshops, user stories, process maps, process mining, task and workflow analysis

+ Research industrywide best practices for implementing modern business processes and integration architecture in core business domains, and identify opportunities to enhance processes to align with best practices

+ Analyze existing business processes for efficiency and effectiveness; make recommendations for business process enhancements

+ Identify business process automation opportunities and ensure the integration architecture accounts for both upstream and downstream processes

+ Work with architecture and engineering teams to design applications based on understanding of business process needs

+ Establish deep business domain knowledge

+ Identify opportunities to reuse enterprise technology services when/where possible

+ Ensure architectural designs and patterns are adhered to and focus on best-in-class customer experience

+ Design prioritized intake process for CXP initiatives as well as break/fix business-as-usual needs

+ Own and manage single backlog that prioritizes work across business process teams and drives CXP efforts while maintaining core operational needs

+ Develop communication materials that are targeted to the audience, providing accurate information in a professional and engaging manner

+ Contribute to short term and longer term (1-3 years) strategic planning in support of Wolters Kluwer strategy

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required. Advance degree preferred.

Experience:

Required:

+ 12 years of relevant combined work experience with deep expertise in business process architecture/engineering

+ Excellent understanding of business process analysis, optimization, and automation

+ Proven skills in building successful executive relationships with peers, colleagues, and partners

+ Proven record of building and improving finance, accounting and/or operations processes

+ Comfortable and confident in working with the senior most executives of global multi-billion-dollar corporations

+ Experience in operations or systems implementation roles

Preferred:

+ Familiarity with SAP

+ Familiarity with Salesforce.com

+ CPQ/Billing experience

+ Ability to create business requirements in partnership with several business units, departments, and technology partners to ensure end solutions meet customer needs and organizational objectives

+ Continuous improvement mentality that drives operational excellence, quality, and transformation

+ Ability to work and interact with C level executives

+ Excellent facilitation skills and ability to negotiate with senior level management and external stakeholders to influence decisions

+ Excellent organizational skills

+ Demonstrated leadership ability. Ability to lead highly visible programs or initiatives across the organization

+ Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives and work within tight deadlines

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be capable of preparing and presenting complex material to executives and senior management

Travel requirements

Must be able to travel up to approximately 30% of the time including some international travel

Compensation:

Target salary range CA, CT, CO, NY, WA:: $177,300-$250,900
