Title: Learner Relations Coordinator

PRIMARY POSITION FUNCTION/SUMMARY

The Learner Relations Coordinator will recruit new learners to ACES online programs, develop support systems for students, and cultivate partnerships with external entities to provide professional educational programs that align with workforce needs.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment

• Develop partnerships with external organizations, agencies, and educational institutions to grow the pipeline of qualified learners seeking high-quality online education

• Develop partnerships with stakeholders, including other ACES academic units, Extension, the Graduate College, and other campus partners, that may be critical for growth, innovation, and improvement across all ACES online programs

• Seek out collaboration opportunities with industry partners to assess workforce and professional development needs and design learning solution proposals to meet identified knowledge and skill needs

• Secure contracts with business and organizations for large-scale adoption of online educational programs

• Identify and apply for grants from government, industry, or community partners to provide professional educational programs for learners

• Develop systems to promote and recruit learners to the portfolio of ACES online programs (including, but not limited to, ACES non-credit online courses, undergraduate online certificates, and online graduate certificates, and online degree programs)

• Plan and conduct recruiting events to promote ACES online credit- and non-credit programs.

• Recruit and provide guidance to prospective learners for ACES Online programs

• Collaborate with ACES leadership to advance Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility efforts including creation and implementation of innovative programming to diversify student enrollment across all ACES Online programs

Advising and Student Success Programs:

• Provide support to learners interested in online degree and non-degree program pathways for credit- and non-credit educational offerings

• Design and implement new student onboarding programs for admitted students in ACES online programs

• Develop online tutorials, technical documentation, training sessions and related web content for student support resources

• Create and coordinate a robust student support model that implements best practices to develop strong communications and provides outstanding customer service to ACES online students

Administration

• Collaborate with other members of the online programs team to help with other cross-functional activities as needed.

• Work with faculty and program administrators to remain up to date on program and curriculum changes

• Analyze student feedback and create program assessments to improve the services and experiences offered by ACES programs

POSITION REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to travel and fulfill occasional commitments on evenings/weekends

Preferred:

• Knowledge of University of Illinois and Academic Advising computer applications, including Banner and Student Records Systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in education, business, management, marketing, human resources counseling, organizational behavior, or a related field. Bachelor's degrees in other fields will be considered with work experience that demonstrates similar competencies

• 5 years of professional experience working in sales, marketing, training and development, customer relationship management, fundraising, or higher education

Preferred:

• Master's degree in education, business, management, marketing, human resources, counseling, organizational behavior, or a related field. Master's degrees in other fields will be considered with work experience that demonstrates similar competencies

• Experience working directly with faculty in higher education

• Previous experience evaluating and interpreting policies and rules as found in the Graduate College Handbook, Code of Policies and Regulations Applying to all Students, and other campus documents.

Successful candidates will be able to:

• assess needs of a business or organization and propose non-credit or credit courses and certificates to meet their needs

• provide outstanding student and learner support

• design clear, concise instructional videos and documentation for adult learners, degree and non-degree students, and non-credit learners

• write grants and learning solutions proposals for industry partners

• effectively communicate technical information to a non-technical audience

• address students' questions and concerns in a timely, professional manner

• design programs and support systems to prioritize the online student experience

• effectively manage projects that involve diverse individuals who may be local or at a distance

• demonstrate skills in problem solving, communication, collaboration, and organization

• be flexible and creative when faced with competing priorities

• lead meetings with faculty and staff to coordinate communication and recruitment efforts

• collaborate across networks and work effectively in virtual teams

TRAINING, LICENSES, OR CERTIFICATIONS

Required:

• Some travel may be required; must possess or be able to obtain a US driver's license within 30 days of employment

SALARY AND APPOINTMENT DETAILS:

This is a full-time (100%, 12-month) Academic Professional hybrid or fully remote appointment. Salary is c ommensurate with qualifications and experience. Immigration sponsorship is not available.
