The University of Illinois Chicago
has an exciting opportunity for a Physician Assistant to work in our outpatient
Gastroenterology clinic, located in the Specialty Care Bldg. The PA will
support the Gastroenterology team, be required to provide patient care and
manage general Gastroenterology patients independently, under the supervision
of a physician. PA will advocate for patients, families, co-workers, the
community, and the nursing profession. Integrate evidence-based knowledge and
clinical expertise in decision-making. Participate in peer review and
competency assessment activities, seek experiences and formal and independent
learning activities to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills
and knowledge. Establish an effective relationship with the entire care team.
May advance the profession through presentations and publications and may lead
and assist in research and evidence based practice through participant
selection, coordination of the protocol(s), data.
Job knowledge and Skills:
Qualifications:
-Graduation from an accredited PA
program
-Licensure as a Physician
Assistant in any US State (Current license as a Physician Assistant in the
State of Illinois will be required by the time of credentialing prior to start
date)
-Current American Heart Association
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
-Current controlled substance
licensure required
-Current National Certification by
the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
-Effective communication skills
(oral and written) that facilitate therapeutic relationships between physician,
APN and PA providers as well as college and hospital leadership and the
multi-disciplinary team.
-Demonstrated experience in
leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, interpersonal communication,
education, clinical experience and change management required.
-Documentation in the medical
record to substantiate accurate billing, Intermediate computer skills
