Job Description

This role is responsible for supporting the effective implementation and administration of the Lurie Children's and Facility Practice Plan (FPP) benefit programs with each role focused in the areas of (1) retirement; (2) health & welfare; or (3) wellbeing & leave programs. This position will partner with a variety of different internal functions and third-party providers to ensure processes and compliance controls are effectively established and executed with the objective of ensuring high quality service delivery of benefits to Lurie Children's employees and physicians.

Job Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Benefits Manager,
Assists in the administration of all company benefits programs, which can include health and welfare plans, retirement plans, wellbeing plans, PTO and other leave programs, and other voluntary benefits.
Addresses employee questions related to their benefit plans including enrollment, status, eligibility changes, contribution amounts, payroll questions and other general inquiries.
Processes all benefit related tasks associated with payroll including ensuring the accurate configuration and effective data flow between our HRIS (Workday) and third-party vendors.
Completes ongoing reconciliation and processing of third-party vendor invoices on a timely and accurate basis including researching and resolving invoice and reconciliation discrepancies.
Assists in the development of communications materials to enhance employee understanding of programs.
Maintains up to date knowledge of all laws related to benefits compliance.
Completes cross-training across the benefits team as directed by their manager to gain a functional working knowledge in all areas of benefits administration and compliance.
Assists in the development and documentation of processes and procedures related to ongoing duties as assigned.
Processes mail related to their area of accountability and other administrative tasks.
Perform other job duties and special projects as assigned.

Education, Skills & Experience:
Associate degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Demonstrated ability to monitor, audit and analyze large data sets to identify issues and structure effective solutions.
Demonstrated careful attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Capable of managing several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines required.
Demonstrated learning agility, resourcefulness and the ability to gain skills quickly to allow independent work with minimal supervision quickly.
Demonstrated sense-of-urgency and follow-up.
Demonstrated experience handling confidential or sensitive information.
2+ years of experience as a benefits administrator, HRIS analyst or in similar role.
Strong skills in the full Microsoft office suite including Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Workday knowledge and analytic skills preferred.
