ROLE SUMMARY:
In this position, you will be our onsite systems engineering support of high voltage lithium ion battery production in Normal, Illinois. You will act as representative of the Battery Systems and Architecture team on the production line.
The opening is located at our Normal, IL facility and reports directly to the Senior Manager of Battery Systems Engineering.
RESPONSIBILIITES:
Drive end of line testing implementation to meet Battery Systems and Architecture requirements, including creation and modification of end of line testing requirements
Approve and trial Battery Management System software releases to the production line
Work with Manufacturing team to identify production throughput blockers and drive their resolution
Lead troubleshooting efforts for battery packs on the production line
Support and debug vehicle general assembly high voltage battery integration issues
Uncover and escalate quality issues, drive to resolution through problem solving techniques (containment, root cause, corrective actions, etc.)
Identify and support implementation of continuous improvement opportunities
Lead and drive builds related to prototype, pilot, and start of production activities for new programs
Execute above tasks while supported by your understanding of high voltage lithium ion battery pack safety
QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years of work experience in Battery/Automotive/Aerospace/related industries
At least a bachelor's degree in engineering discipline
Proficiency using CAN tools for debugging purposes
Controls experience
Python skills (preferred)
Knowledge of battery behavior and high voltage safety
Excellent problem-solving skills; reliant on core engineering principles and common sense
Self starter, must be willing to run to and seek out issues
Strong communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills, both in presentation and technical writing
Issue tracking tools (Jira, Bugzilla, etc.)
Previous experience with product launches and production schedules
