Due to continued growth, our Nuclear Service Group is seeking a Senior Level Electrical Engineer in Naperville, IL.
This position can be Full Time, PT or LTLB.
Responsibilities (including but are not limited to):
Coordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines
Directs and oversee routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects and maintains quality standards of all assigned projects
Manage budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight
Develop engineering design change packages to install, replace or upgrade existing plant equipment
Develop engineering calculations in support of design change packages, including AC and DC power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination, motor starting and protective relay settings
Develop electrical equipment procurement and installation specifications including evaluation of technical bids and selection of equipment
Review and check designs, drawings and calculations prepared by other engineers or subcontractors
Prepares design studies, project scopes and engineering estimates
Mentor and guide the development of the group
Required Qualifications / skills:
Bachelors of Science Degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university
Minimum 10 + years' experience in the design of low and medium voltage power systems
Understand roles played by other disciplines on the project and is able to coordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines
Firm working knowledge of electrical codes, standards and criteria for the U.S. market (i.e. IEEE, NEC, NESC, etc.)
Expertise with the design and application of low and medium voltage industrial distribution including MCC's, Switchgear, Transformers, Distribution Panels, motors, VFD's, UPS's, and generators
Expertise in preparation and review of electrical schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and single line drawings
Experience in the preparation of procurement specifications for electrical distribution and controls equipment
Proficient in Word and Excel
Good writing, presentation and communication skills
Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
Must be able to traverse client sites to conduct walkabouts
Must be able to work outside at client sites in all weather conditions
Must be able to travel on occasion; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs
Employment requirement:
Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client- specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client procedures.
Personal vehicle insurance with State minimum limits of liability for Bodily Injury and Property Damage. Evidence of such coverage may be requested by ENERCON at any time.
