We are currently seeking a General Accountant to contribute as an essential member within the corporate accounting team in downtown Chicago, IL. This position will report to the Sr. Accounting Manager, but will work with all members of the team.
Roles and responsibilities:
* Heavy involvement in monthly close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
* Responsible for the oversight of financial results of assigned plants.
* Assist plant management in understanding monthly financial results.
* Assist plant in researching and resolving financial issues.
* Assist in internal management reporting and analysis.
* Responsible for assigned incentive accounting areas.
* Assist with external reporting including preparation of SEC footnote disclosures.
* Work on other special projects, as assigned.
Position Requirements:
* Bachelors degree in accounting
* CPA preferred
* 1-3 years of monthly financial close experience
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills
* Knowledge of SAP a plus
