Description:
1. Participate in project turnover meetings from sales to engineering – Research and understand all aspects of the project documentation, including but not limited to mechanical and electrical drawings, plans and specifications, and other pertinent data – Identify all members of the contracting chain and establish communication with each, including mechanical contractor, general contractor, and design engineer 2. Develop all required schedules for project submittals -Identify all required valves, dampers, air flow measuring stations, flow meters, or otherwise – Create engineered schedules including all pertinent information for the approval and purchase of parts – Submit schedules to project manager for approval – Develop bill of materials and purchase order with appropriate delivery dates and locations 3. Develop required engineering installation documents for submittal -Identify all required equipment as coordinated through sales to engineering turnover – Determine appropriate controls for each mechanical/electrical equipment to accommodate the design engineer sequence of operations – Create a network riser diagram showing all control devices, network devices, and cabling – Create functional strategy control drawings to accurate operate equipment according to the sequence of operation – Compile all components into a bill of material for procurement – Utilize the sequence of operations from the design engineer as required and incorporate into submittal package – Collect all material data cut sheets from the bill of materials – Assemble the submittal package and organize a submittal review with the project manager and senior application engineer or engineering manager – Support the senior application engineer or engineering manager in submission to design engineer approval – Follow up and track submittal review by design engineer until approvals have been received – Create point to point checkout book for field installation 4. Support field operations on the installation of the project -Upon receipt of approved submittals, prepare all required bills of material for procurement – Determine appropriate ship-to locations – Acquire delivery dates and verify receipt of all materials – Create material turnover forms for sub contractor parts tracking – Coordinate with senior application engineer or engineering manager to create all RFIs required from project manager and field engineer during the project duration. Maintain a record of all RFIs submitted, including date of submission, content, responses, and open/closed status 5. Support and learn functions outside of the application engineer job description -Learn to use engineering standards and present changes to the engineering manager – Participate in project turnover meetings to learn key skills required in identifying engineering concerns on projects – Participate in vendor presentations to continually improve knowledge base 6. Create and maintain daily logs every day -Note current status on completion of the project and tasks accomplished for that day -Note problems or issues that arose – Note interference issues from other contractors 7. Understand the scope of your project -Know the hours allotted to you for your particular task – Read through and understand submittals, mechanical drawings, specifications, and other pertinent project details – Look for potential change orders and bring to the attention of supervisor
