Location: Hybrid (Based in Alsip IL, Scarborough Canada or Monterrey Mexico)


Summary: Leads GFNA R&D Bench to Market initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance, accelerate speed to market and drive Griffith Performance Excellence focus to enable differentiating, long term sustainable sales and aspiration impact. Contributes locally, regionally and globally to enable How to Win and Where to Play initiatives with specific focus on elevating Regulatory capabilities and external influence, Griffith Performance Excellence (GPE) and leveraging technology via global system platforms.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Leads R&D initiatives to link supplier selection, raw material selection, product formulation and product optimization to commercial fulfillment efficiencies and production of safe and regulatory compliant food products.
Harmonizes NA and Unit R&D commercial support business processes to maximize efficiency and consistency across NA.
Coordinates Regulatory processes to ensure development and production of safe and regulatory compliant food products.
Builds Regulatory expertise and capacity to focus on proactive interpretation of local and global regulations in service of building the Nutrition and Sustainable product portfolio.
Collaborates with NA FSQS, NA Purchasing and IT teams to design document approval and management platforms.
Leverages technology platforms to drive R&D process efficiency, metrics visibility and data analytics across Power Steering, CRM, WW Applications, D365 and BI tools.
Coordinates formula management activities across WW Applications, D365 and BI reporting.
Represents NA R&D on Global Regulatory meetings and on IT platform key user groups.
Responsible for NA formula and confidential information security processes.
Collaborates with unit R&D GPE leaders, NA Purchasing leader and R&D peers to assign, manage, and prioritize projects for key GPE raw material, supplier, formulation, and R&D process improvement activities.
Defines, implements and drive metrics to monitor Customer Development, Regulatory and GPE effectiveness and efficiency.
Coordinates proactive raw material and supplier portfolio initiatives to align with 2030 Aspirations, with focus on Innovation, Sustainable Sourcing, Nutrition and Alternative Protein.
Communicates progress of all key R&D GPE projects.
Represents NA R&D in professional business relationships.
Qualifications:

BS degree from a four-year college or university in Food Science or related field required or 10 years of experience in R&D, Regulatory or Quality or a master's degree and 8 of experience.
Strong knowledge of NA regulatory body requirements.
Established network across NA regulatory agencies.
Strong analytical skills including knowledge of ingredient functionality across a range of food products.
Strong project planning, management, and execution skills.
Proven ability to leverage new technologies platforms and process improvements.
Demonstrated ability to improve business processes.
Proven ability to train and mentor associates.
Demonstrated experience of excellent communication, working well in a team environment, confidence, enthusiasm, and initiative.
Ability to work closely with internal and external customers.
Excellent, concise technical writing skills.
Travel 25%.
