Job Description

The Accountant is directly supervised by the Senior Accountant and responsible for providing accounting support by preparing, developing and analyzing accounting information following
established policies and procedures in compliance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:


1. Prepare, examine and analyze financial statements for corporate clients, including balance sheets, loss/income statements and cash flow analysis;
a. Prepare accounting records: review each transaction from the company’s bank statements; and review each cash transaction. Prepare records for detailed classification.
b. Analyze the records and compare the records with past reconciliations and
balance sheets/income statements, conduct account reconciliations and ensure it matches the trial balance.
c. Review statement of cash flows, which includes operating activities, investing activities, and financing activities.
d. Perform an assessment of the financial documents to ensure the accuracy of all the financial statements and reports them to the Clients.


2. Prepare and enter journal entries, maintain general ledgers and conduct accounts reconciliation according to GAAP rules;
a. Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts for assigned clients.
b. Review accounts payable and receivables.
c. During the Audit and end of year reconciliation if transactions are in the wrong account, under the supervision of senior accountant, create journal entries to ensure transactions are
associated with the proper account.


3. Prepare tax returns for corporations, partnerships, gift tax returns and estate tax returns for clients; prepare quarterly/annual payroll tax returns and sales tax returns; and
a. Identify the tax-included and tax-excluded records.
b. Research the appropriate tax rate and calculate the taxes due using the updated tax
rate.


4. Conduct research on tax advantages and disadvantages for clients’ business decisions; and research tax benefits and develop strategies for tax audit representation; review and
summarize IRS guidelines and tax procedures.
