HR Intern - Paid (Temporary)
Work Location: In person (55 W. Jackson Blvd, Chicago). This is not a remote position.
Schedule: 7.5/day, M-Th.
Duration: 10 - 12 weeks
Ability to commute Chicago, IL: Reliable transportation/commute

Under the supervision of the HR Director, the HR Intern will perform various administrative duties in support of the HR Service Center function, including both ongoing daily tasks as well as project work.

Human Resources Interns are responsible for:
Provide phone coverage of the HR Service Center, answering routine questions, directing non-routine questions to appropriate internal resources, and following up to ensure callers receive timely responses.
Assist with completing Verifications of Employment and Student Loan Repayment/Forgiveness Requests;
Review background checks results, as assigned, and communicate results to internal stakeholders;
Distribute HR mail

Project Responsibilities will include:
Contribute to the development, organization, and implementation of an electronic personnel file system (Credentials Documentation);
Assist in the launch of the Driver Approval Process and review of MVRs

Qualifications
Minimum two years of college,preferably in HR, Business major.Junior or Senior status preferred
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of data and display good judgment
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
Basic understanding of technology with proficiency in excel.
