Senior Actuarial Consultant / AVP, Actuary I – Planning & Performance, National Accounts

Zurich North America is looking for a Planning & Performance Actuary for our National Accounts Finance team out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.

While this position will be based out of our Schaumburg Headquarters, we are offering the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely. You will collaborate with your manager to set a schedule that supports you, your customers, and the team.

This position can be filled at either the Senior Actuarial Consultant or AVP, Actuary I reward level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

U.S. National Accounts Planning & Performance actuaries work within our businesses to deliver strategic priorities and performance improvements by providing timely actionable insights that drive planning and measuring execution. The successful candidate will have, in addition to solid technical skills, strong communication skills to deliver technical messages to non-technical audiences along with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.

Basic Qualifications (Senior Actuarial Consultant):

+ Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates DegreeOR

+ Bachelor’s DegreeAND

+ 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus FCAS or equivalent international certificationOR

+ 10 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus ACAS or equivalent international certification

Basic Qualifications (AVP, Actuary I):

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Actuarial Sciences and 8 or more years of experience in the Actuarial areaAND

+ FCAS or equivalent international certificationOR

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Actuarial Sciences and 13 or more years of experience in the Actuarial areaAND

+ ACAS or equivalent international certification

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) and knowledge/skills reflective of a senior practitioner

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Excellent relationship management skills???
