Located on Chicago's vibrantly multicultural North Side, LUC is committed to creating an inclusive, responsive community of faculty, students, and staff. We are a congenial, collaborative program, housed on Loyola's beautiful lakeside campus. As an urban-based Department, the DFPA is dedicated to mentoring a diverse student body, many of whom come from under-represented and under-served populations. We especially encourage applications from candidates from under-represented groups. We also encourage applications from educators committed to interdisciplinarity (i.e., working with colleagues across different subfields and disciplines). This search is part of a university-wide, multiyear hiring initiative designed to hire outstanding researchers and teachers who are reflective of our diverse student body. Of special interest are candidates who can further the University's efforts to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The position includes teaching four undergraduate courses per semester in visual communication. The position includes some service obligations, primarily participating in critiques for Senior Capstone and attending department meetings. Successful candidates must be prepared to teach undergraduate courses within a liberal arts context. The ability to teach animation, color theory, and interactive design is essential.
