POSITION SUMMARY:
The Strategic Proposal Group Manager leads the Inside Sales Team, is the principal point of contact for proposal development. The successful candidate oversees the alignment and implementation of business development (BD) related policies and procedures related to Inside Sales activities. The Strategic Proposal Group Manager is a key leadership role and partners with BD staff across multiple markets (Federal, Water, Transportation and Energy) to contribute to the growth of the business through engagement in a diverse range of pursuit activities as summarized below.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and oversee Inside Sales team supporting all Stanley Consultants markets.
Serve as direct manager for Inside Sales Team Managers.
Coordinate with Inside Sales Team Managers to monitor and balance workload and ensure effective resource management.
Advocate and collaborator for new technology, automation and innovation across pursuit and proposal creation phases - contributing to the optimization of BD ROI and resource management.
Develop and implement plans to build and maintain positive team morale, retention, collaboration, communication and performance.
Support the development of continuously improved pursuit and proposal-related processes, tools, systems and training to improve proposal efficiency and quality.
Follows Project Delivery Model (PDM) sales process and policy for strong and consistent compliance across entire team and markets. Continuously enforce the use of and adherence to corporate standards, policies and processes. Actively participate in Go No/Go discussions.
Strong facilitation and sponsorship of win-theme development and pursuit tiering across team and markets to ensure continuous improvement and shared learning.
Perform strategic evaluation of clients and opportunities in collaboration with others to determine alignment with strategic positioning and goals.
Direct and guide response teams through complex and high-profile pursuit processes, keep teams focused on key messages and pursuit priorities and implement lessons learned.
Participate in capture planning sessions, proposal reviews, and development of interview presentations, including coaching, for major pursuits.
Identify best practices and recommend better methods for creating proposal materials and improving the appearance of presentation materials.
Participate in debrief sessions when appropriate and use results to refine future pursuit strategies and training.
Coordinate with BD leadership to implement improvements to BD processes and standards as related to proposal development.
Manage career paths and professional development plans, training administration, and expertise development.
Analyze pursuit metrics (win and capture rates); perform analysis to identify trends, challenges, opportunities for improvement.
