The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Human Rights Investigator.  Under general supervision, this position will independently perform highly responsible investigative work of a difficult nature resulting from complaints alleging violation of Equal Employment Opportunity and/or Affirmative Action rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures.  The position will gather and analyze information and conduct complex research to develop statistical information.  This position will conduct interviews to question complainants and employers regarding allegations and employer rebuttals.  The position will also conduct fact-finding conferences involving both parties to enable complainants and employers to discuss allegations in a professional, controlled environment.  This position provides a great opportunity for someone with a strong sense of integrity and fairness who is interested in ensuring all appropriate EEO and Affirmative Action rules are applied appropriately and consistently.  DCFS offers a competitive compensation plan, excellent benefits, and a pension program.  The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent organizational skills and strong leadership and communication capabilities.  We invite you to join our innovative team to help make a positive difference in the lives of the children and families of Illinois.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business, public or personnel administration, or social sciences

 

  1. Requires one year of professional experience as a Human Rights Investigator I

 

Conditions of Employment

1.  Requires the ability to pass a background check

2.  Requires possession of a valid driver’s license, access to an operating vehicle, and proof of automobile insurance

 

Work Hours:  8:30am - 5:00pm Mon. - Fri.
