We have an opportunity for an Import/Export Compliance Specialist to join our North Aurora, IL team. Interested candidates, who meet the requirements below, are encouraged to apply today!

You will:
Work closely with the internal Logistics team, Purchasing, international CS team and third-party logistics partners, brokers, freight forwarders, and trade advisory consultants to ensure global trade.
Support Global Trade Compliance team in conducting assessments and other activities.
Ensure trade compliance communications are circulated to the correct people within the business location.
Ensure that accurate trade compliance data exists within the business location ERP and protocols exist within the system and with IT to ensure compliance operations.
Support the production of accurate transactional metrics and document retention to support internal and external audits.
Act as subject matter expert for HTS classification and support the maintenance of classification databases.
Conduct post-import and post-export review of documentation for accuracy/record- keeping.
Determine country of origin and duty preference eligibility under free trade agreements ("FTAs")/preferences.
Implement desk-level operational procedures in coordination with GBU Leads and/or Regional Managers to ensure regional requirements are addressed.
Obtain required end use/end user information and where required certificates.
Oversee training to screen parties against the denied parties list and act as first level review for denied party screening.
Ensure Anti-Boycott requests are reported immediately and on a quarterly basis.

Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Customs Broker License, or Transport Intermediary Certification preferred.
Experience working for/with Customs brokers and freight forwarders, and/or employment in international trade roles with a large importer or exporter.
Expertise in HTS. A thorough understanding of Customs and FTC origin marking regulations, Customs valuation rules, and the qualification and application of free trade agreements.
Team player willing to quickly and efficiently resolve issues.
Willing to expand personal knowledge if additional responsibilities are requested.
