Managing 'Data as a Product' and truly treating data like any other digital product is at the core of this effort. We are invested in elevating Data Products with dedicated teams chiefly responsible for ensuring our most important data is available at scale, with high quality, in all the environments consumers need it.

As a Senior Director of Card Core Data Products on the Core Modernization team, you will take ownership for defining and operationalizing some of the company's most important data. You will work closely with data analysts, engineers, data scientists and other cross functional teams to create integrated roadmaps, prioritize development, define metrics and key results and deliver scalable, resilient and quality Data Products that power the company's most critical experiences.

Primary Responsibilities for this role include:

Lead the development of scalable and high-quality Data Products that align to company and industry standards to promote data consistency, interoperability and reuse.

Develop and continuously refine the Data Product vision with buy-in across cross-functional stakeholder groups to ensure product meets clearly defined business outcomes

Immerse yourself in understanding your customer(s) by employing empathy and design thinking to craft data strategies that drive business value

Learn the financial drivers, externalities, and points of leverage within your domain to identify new solutions or enhancements that drive sustainable value for Capital One

Promote a culture anchored in data, used to establish data definitions and solutions that reflect the reality of intent and usage, validate outcomes, drive insights, and manage the business both tactically and strategically

Partner with Technology leaders to drive definition of end-state architecture and deliver secure, resilient, performant and scalable technology solutions that solve material customer and business problems

Govern the responsible and efficient application of technology and modeling resources by assessing opportunities for reusing existing solutions, clearly defining minimum viable products, and building products with extensibility in mind

Establish a long-term product strategy, informed by customer and business needs, and partner with leaders and stakeholders to regularly drive alignment, secure resources and overcome impediments

Attract, grow, empower, and inspire top Data Product talent as they develop and deliver on their local strategy in an iterative, outcome-focused and well-managed way

Our Data Product Managers have:

Strong data analysis skills (e.g., SQL, python, R) along with an understanding of technical patterns used to consume and process data at scale (e.g., graphQL, spark)

Excellent problem solving and influencing skills

Thrive at the intersection of data, business strategy and technology - able to understand complex business intent and translate strategy into data requirements that promote consistent, reusable and interoperable data consumption

Framework driven approach to problem solving with ability to simplify technical complexity and drive well-educated business decisions across stakeholders

Exceptional cross-team collaboration; able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done.
