Job Description
Are you ready for a challenging and unique type of R&D role? New Ventures & Disruptive R&D aims to accelerate Kraft Heinz growth ambitions through external ecosystems and partnerships. This position is a Principal Scientist role, where the individual will be tasked with driving R&D external disruptive strategy for new innovation platforms and championing new initiatives and ways of working to drive partnership and collaboration, both internally and externally, for Kraft Heinz North America. This role will allow individuals to grow their technical leadership and strategy development skills through direct interaction with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Collaboration with cross functional teams to lead development of new innovation platforms from concept to low fidelity MVP, including Marketing, Operations, Quality, External Manufacturers, and Procurement
Support project teams as a proactive R&D external innovation strategy resource
Champion innovation initiatives, such as iWeek and Innovation Fair, leveraging external ecosystems and partnerships
Build external ecosystems to support Kraft Heinz R&D strategy
Establish external partnerships to drive innovation, ESG and renovation strategy in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Embrace an agile organization mindset
Qualifications / Skillsets Required to be Successful
Minimum BS in Food Science, Food Engineering, Packaging Science, Dairy Science, Meat Science, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or related field; Masters/PhD is a plus
5+ years experience in the food industry, including commercialization
Demonstrated technical/intellectual curiosity and innovative thinking
Possess excellent industry external ecosystem and relationships
Strong personal motivation in fast-paced, often ambiguous environment, with a bias for action
Excellent communication, influencing, prioritization, and project management skills
