Job Description

 

Dewberry is seeking a Project Architect with well-rounded experience to join our team. Experience in project types including Justice, Municipal, Public Safety, and Government work is desirable. Must have a professional degree, Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree from an accredited university. Candidate must be proficient in Revit, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suites.
Prefer cadidate to be located in Fairfax, but open to remote.

Responsibilities

 

Successful candidate must be a self-starter, have a general understanding of technical building assemblies and detailing and be able to maintain design intent while offering design improvement and collaboration through the design process. Must be willing to work under the supervision of a Project Architect to develop construction documents. Shall have the desire and general knowledge to work on projects from the conceptual design phase through construction administration. Candidates should also possess a positive attitude, an outstanding work ethic and be team-oriented.

 


Required Skills & Required Experience

 

5+ years of experience and a professional degree in Architecture from an accredited university is required.
Enrollment in NCARBs AXP with a goal of obtaining a license to practice architecture preferred.
Ability to assist designers and project managers in conceptual design on assigned projects.
Experience producing working drawings including research of materials and product selection.
Demonstrated experience with REVIT, Autocad, Sketchup, Adobe Suites and Microsoft Office.
Digital and traditional rendering abilities and graphic experience a plus.
Familiarity with building code requirements is preferred.
Knowledge of sustainable design principles is preferred.
Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
A portfolio demonstrating design experience will be required.
Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check and must be a US Citizen.
