Job Description:
+ Prepare and analyze quarterly financial statements and related workpapers for all assigned Community Development Entities (CDE) and Investment Funds within defined deadlines, meeting departmental standards.
+ Review portfolio of quarterly and annual CDE and Investment Fund financial statements and investor reporting prepared by accounting staff. Work closely with Staff Accountant and Senior Manager, Fund Administration to discuss and resolve issues, address delays and ensure the department meets all reporting deadlines.
+ Own communication with assigned third party clients about the financial aspects of the sub-CDEs we manage on their behalf. Act as a liaison with our clients’ outside accounting firms to ensure timely annual reporting including coordination and supervision of the collection and review of annual tax returns and audits.
+ Coordinate with loan servicing department to verify receipt of debt service and fee payments from borrowers and take necessary steps to collect past due payments including working with asset management and legal counsel when necessary. Prepare wire authorizations to transfer money as required per agreements and record payments in NewDL system timely.
+ Review loan and fund closing legal documents and provide feedback to ensure that all closed deals meet all department standard requirements and that all unusual deal terms and requirements are understood, addressed and documented prior to closing.
+ Monitor cash activity, ensuring all cash transfers are done timely. Prepare bank reconciliations.
+ Communicate effectively with clients, partners, borrowers and tax and audit preparers to help ensure reporting-related information is received or prepared timely.
+ Communicate interdepartmentally to ensure all financial and operational schedules, closing legal documents, and underwriting models include current data and the accounting for each entity is consistent with agreements and regulations.
+ Coordinate with consolidating financial entities to timely collect required and/or needed quarterly and annual financial information in accordance with agreed upon deadlines.
+ Complete special projects as assigned and identify special projects that will benefit the company and department.
RequirementsRequired qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; accounting preferred
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting or auditing experience or ability to demonstrate equivalent skill sets
+ Experience working with automated accounting systems, preparing/posting journal entries, creating financial statements, and delivering timely, accurate financial information to superiors.
+ Ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment, on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to complete work efficiently and within defined deadlines.
+ Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
+ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
+ Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
