has an immediate opening for a
Senior Project Manager
The University of Illinois Foundation is seeking to add a key experienced Project Manager to their staff. This person will perform professional-level duties associated with managing IT projects. The project portfolio consists of a variety of IT-specific projects which range from small, moderate efforts to large, complex projects.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage assigned IT projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project. Utilize specialized knowledge of project/portfolio management to facilitate project planning for individual projects and organization-wide initiatives.
Employ Project Management methods and competencies, including developing Project charters, Project schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Risk & Issue lists, Change requests, Communication plans, and Lessons learned lists.
Coordinate and facilitate project team meetings. Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team, coordinating with the appropriate lead(s) and departments. Communicate progress with project stakeholders, program leads, and management at key review points.
Manage the collection and analysis of project performance including performance against budget, scope, project objectives, and customer satisfaction. Provide ongoing analysis on project performance and scheduling and on resource capacity management.
Using independent judgment, assess ongoing and completed work to improve future efficiencies, formulating and recommending changes to project workflows and management as needed.
Facilitate the usage of project and resource management software across the organization and be a subject matter expert in the usage of this software.
Establish and track project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
Mentor the team in project methods, competencies, and artifacts, including project plans, project performance metrics, status reports, etc
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Eligible to work in the US w/out sponsorship now or in the future.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
At least five years of project management experience or progressively responsible work experience relating to information services or project management.
Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and objectives.
Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, with a continuing willingness to learn.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple project streams efficiently in a complex environment. Able to perform complex tasks, organize and prioritize multiple projects, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, planning, and organizational skills.
Experienced and articulate communication skills (oral and written).
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor others.
Thorough understanding of information technology procedures and practices.
Considerable experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) ), and MS Project (or equivalent project management software tool)
PMI certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience designing and creating recurring standard reports for management.
Experience in Advancement, Higher Education, or a complex organization
