Job Description:

Join our team at Crowe and use your skills to help us deliver innovative solutions to complex business issues. We seek a talented UX Designer/Developer to help oversee our design system and help to design, develop, and maintain our web properties.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the design system: The Design System Specialist is responsible for creating a comprehensive design system that is consistent with the organization's branding and visual identity. They work with the UX and web development teams to ensure that the system is usable, accessible, and meets the users' needs.

Define design guidelines and principles: Define the design guidelines and principles that govern the design system. Ensure that the guidelines are easy to understand and are applied consistently across all products and experiences.

Pattern and Style Guide Creation: Develop clear and concise documentation for design patterns and styles, including usage guidelines, best practices, and accessibility considerations, to support the design and development teams in using the design system effectively.

Cross-functional Teamwork: Work closely with including designers, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, to establish and maintain a shared understanding of the design system, facilitating smooth and consistent implementation.

Updates and changes to the design system: The Design System Specialist is responsible for managing updates and changes to the design system. They collaborate with front-end developers to prototype new components, iterating on designs and functionality to create optimal user experiences They ensure that any changes are communicated effectively to the rest of the team and that the system is updated accordingly.

Scalability: As the organization grows and evolves, the Design System Specialist ensures that the design system can scale to meet the organization's needs. They work with the team to identify areas of improvement and make updates to the design system as needed.

Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to design systems, incorporating new ideas and methodologies to ensure the ongoing evolution and improvement of the design system.

Advocate and evangelize the design system: Act as a design system advocate, promoting its benefits and usage across the organization. The Design System specialist helps educate stakeholders on the importance of the design system and the benefits it provides, and ensures that the system is well-understood and utilized by the team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Design, or related field.

3-5 years of experience in front-end development, UX/UI design, or a related field.

Working experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript - experience with front-end frameworks and within a CMS is a plus.

Experience with Figma is preferred.

Understanding of UX design principles and experience with user-centered design methodologies.

Knowledge of web performance optimization, accessibility, and SEO best practices.

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment is preferred.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
