The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Regional Business Office Account Technician. Under general supervision, this position will perform technical accounting work related to accounts payable and general accounting for purchase of service, day care, medical, or operational expenditures. The position will prepare, review, and process vouchers and other billing statements and forms on appropriate payment systems, reviewing to ensure accuracy and appropriate code usage. The position will also make payments in a timely manner, following Department policy and the Prompt Payment Act to ensure that service providers, vendors, and staff receive payment as soon as possible. Minimum Qualifications1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college and completion of an approved training course OR three years of related bookkeeping experience
Preferred Qualification (In Order of Signaificance)1. 2 years of experience in an office setting utilizing strong computer skills, particularly in mainframe accounting systems, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook and Word
2. 2 years of experience in an office setting applying working knowledge of accounting techniques
3. 2 years of experience in an office setting applying working knowledge of state or non-state accounting procedures
4. 2 years of experience in an office setting utilizing working knowledge of office methods and procedures
