Job Description
Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Chicago, Illinois. Remote work permitted one (1) day per week within commuting distance of Chicago, IL. Work with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) process, including gathering business and technical requirements, software design, implementation, testing, release management, and production support to translate requirements into well-engineered business applications, and conduct strategic and tactical risk analyses. Perform strategic software development tasks, including technical and functional analysis, design, support, issue resolution, and vendor and user management. Contribute to the vision, understand the product roadmap, and build an engineering culture within the global team, including mentoring and developing more junior team members. Provide technology risk management support and implementation of firmwide control and monitoring tools. Work daily with global development team in an agile scrum setting to communicate project status and timelines. Provide code review feedback to team members’ software changes to maintain structural quality of software. Build data Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) pipelines from investment management data sources. Build and manage the data analytics layer to provide key metrics to the business and optimize data storage structure to ensure best possible response times for business user data access. Support Developer Operations by deploying approved software artifacts to cloud hosting environments following a strictly controlled and standardized process.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Prior experience must include three (3) years of experience with: working with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including interacting with users to elicit requirements, design, and development, conducting direct user acceptance testing, and post-release production support; working concurrently on multiple deadline-driven development projects; working with databases including MongoDB, DB2, Sybase, or MS SQL; using HTML, JSON, JavaScript, and Clientside JavaScript frameworks, including REACT; working with a programming language including Java; working with microservice architectures (SOA) and with the Spring framework family; working with webservice architectures, tooling, and standards including RESTful; working with frameworks such as React or Angular; programming within UNIX, LINUX, and Windows environments; using one or more software version control technologies, including one of the following Concurrent Version System (CVS), SVN, or Git to manage and deploy code to various environments; and working within enterprise cloud environments such as AWS
