Description:

This position is a responsible for providing a high level of customer service to patrons of Starbucks and the greater UIC community. Will prepare orders, cashier, clean store and assist with the operations of the Starbucks.

Duties & Responsibilities
Food and Beverage Preparation:
- Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all
 recipe and presentation standards.
- Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Operates and maintains food and beverage equipment.
- Keeps product areas stocked as necessary.
- Maintains clean and organized workspace.
Cashier:
- Maintains and manages cashier bank/register.
- Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote
 the Culture and values of Starbucks and UIC.
- Follows Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety
 and security to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift.
- Clears tables, empties disposal containers, sweep, mop and dust to maintain clean, organized and
 sanitized workspace and store.
Customer Service:
- Delivers outstanding service to all customers.
- Discovers and responds to customer needs.
- Assists with new employee training for Baristas and other team members.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Six (6) months of work experience in food preparation in a commercial setting.
As required by the position to be filled, possession of the Illinois Department of Public Health, Food Handler Training Certification (from an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited trainer).
Preferred Qualifications:

Outstanding customer service skills.
Ability to operate register and beverage machines.
