Job Summary
Data Custodian supports the internal and external customer experience by onboarding basic customer/vendor/product requirements and managing the internal reporting fields on within Master Data. Working cross-functionally at all levels of the organization, this individual focuses on improving the data quality including internal report coding, identifying improvements, and feeding this back into the business in the form of relevant and actionable recommendations, initiatives, and strategies. The individual will partner with designated cross-functional key business owners to identify rules and procedures to create repeatable reporting processes focused on understanding and quantifying reporting needs to enhance the customer experience.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

*Assume ownership and responsibility for data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity of customer master data fields.
*Own and execute the qualitative coding process to enable creation of usable customer/vendor/product reporting. Responsible for analyzing and data within multiple systems, primarily SAP.
*Identifies the multiple facets of system date and prioritization for customer/vendor/product accounts based on in-depth knowledge and research, market segment and business guidelines.
*Applies an in-depth understanding of internal and external needs within the segment and identifies available opportunity and service requirements for all categories.
*Partner various internal departments to ensure the quality and accuracy of reports and analyses, implementing best practices.
*Develop business knowledge to effectively anticipate and define opportunities to apply business intelligence and analytics solutions to improve business outcomes including being a subject matter expert on master data to be a resource to guide and mentor the sales force.
*Collaborate with business partners to identify and document processes and procedures around master data and Avantor coding.
*Work with information technology and subject matter experts to understand data quality issues and drive the resolution of discrepancies.
*Works with large amounts of data and utilizes multiple systems to research and analyze information.
*Responsible for loading basic master data information, requirements, internal reporting fields; and prioritization into SAP.
*Researches and resolves complex customer issues including prioritization.
*Develop logical data models and analysis reports based on business analysis patterns.
*Develop dashboards, scorecards, and advanced analytics based on business requirements.
*Acts as subject matter expert for projects including new acquisitions data migration including analysis of legacy files, matching of master data, and providing a seamless transition to SAP. This includes training on account structure, processes and procedures.
*Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

*Bachelor's degree preferably in information systems, engineering, business, math or sciences; or equivalent experience
*1-3 years applicable experience, preferably in product or sales data management

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
*Knowledge of SAP systems a plus
*Knowledge of Salesforce a plus
*Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and oral)
*Excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task effectively and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment without close guidance or supervision
*Knowledge of best practices and principles for data modeling, dashboards, report design, analytics, and data mining
*Ability to organize, interpret and present data to assist management in the evaluation of business performance and understanding of the customer experience.
*Strong data extraction skills required
*Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
