Stanley Consultants is currently seeking a Principal Structural Engineer for our Chicago, IL office.
Job responsibilities:
Leads the design of transportation structures such as bridges and culverts
Leads and/or assist with delivering successful bridge projects throughout the project delivery process including design, review, and quality control effort
Assists the Department Manager with staffing and career development opportunities
Mentors structural staff in technical design, modeling, and analyzing structural components
Prepares structural reports, cost estimates, and compiles structural and quantity calculations
Leads the design, review, and quality control effort of various structural assignments
Develops structural specifications, drawings, and related documents to meet client requirements
Reviews construction schedules and planning studies for projects
Evaluates the need for design changes and communicates appropriate recommendations to project manager or clients
Serves as a technical liaison with clients on project efforts and coordinates technical efforts within discipline areas
Assists in the pricing, estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects
Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability as related to field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling of construction activities
Background Requirements:
MS in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering; PhD in Civil engineering / Structural Engineering a plus, but not required
SE/PE in Illinois
Minimum of 15 years' experience
Strong background in Illinois DOT highway bridge design
Proficiency in seismic and non-linear analysis as well as soil structure interaction analysis, post-tensioned concrete and curved steel
