Job Description:

This opportunity will join the Global Technology Commercial Product & Platform team where our vision is to develop technology that delight our customers and enable our crews to operate our restaurants reliably and effectively.

The Senior Tech Lead will be responsible for delivering the global Digital Menu Board and corresponding Content Management System. The Sr Tech Lead partners with our Global Digital Menu Board Content Management team to define and deliver the associated technical products and solutions using a mix of internal and external (vendor) resources and products and ensures successful integration with existing McDonald’s systems.

The Sr Tech Lead is responsible for the delivery of application/services and architecture of the systems within the product ensuring they are secure and standardized and can be easily consumed by other services. They ensure tech design patterns and standard processes are consistently applied across systems. The Sr Tech Lead is also a people leader for Tech Leads and owner of the architectural/technical decisions for the product.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

+ Develop the product’s target technical roadmap and key technology decisions to deliver the roadmap.

+ Actively lead and drive accountability of 3rd party technology vendors

+ Ability to synthesize information and communicate effectively to a broad range of partners

+ Responsible for the technical solution design, integration and implementation

+ Handle technical interdependencies and interfaces of their product with other systems and products

+ Partner with Product Managers and other collaborators in planning, definition and high-level design of solutions; explore alternatives, partner with product teams in identifying technologies and making technical tradeoffs and decisions

+ Establish standard methodologies for identifying, analyzing and managing technical risks.

+ Responsible for testing strategy and the quality of the outputs of the internal/external development teams

+ Provide people leadership for Tech Leads, professional development and engineering resources allocated to the product

+ Define critical non-functional requirements for product development

+ Participate in release preparation and planning

+ Handle temporary solutions and technical debt at the Tribe/Cluster level

Qualifications:

+ Experienced technical leader with hands-on development and deployment experience with insights into the newest technology and development trends.

+ Experience partnering with team members across an at-scale, complex, global matrix org structure

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization

+ Previous experience with CMS solutions and basic understanding of the supporting business processes

+ Deep understanding of business, information, technical architecture (e.g. architecture principles design, deployment models), security

+ Experience with creating and driving testing strategies for functional, integration and performance testing

+ Experience working on projects that span multiple organizations, geographies and business units

+ Experience developing solutions that provide high levels of resilience and scale.

+ Experience in Agile product development

+ Experience leading technical priorities and driving strategic architectural initiatives

+ Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions with stakeholders of all levels of expertise

+ Active coach and mentor whose goal is to grow and improve team members’ potential
