Overview
The Sr. Industrial Design candidate, under the direction of the Design Sr. Manager, would be responsible for the design of Gatorade athletic equipment, structural packaging, and support on experience design projects. The ideal candidate will drive from ideation to execution, and deliver quality design solutions - aligned with the Gatorade business and directly executing these initiatives or working with external partners (Design, Prototyping, and Manufacturing) to get the job done.

Responsibilities
We’re in search of a versatile Sr Industrial Designer that understands how to balance Design with the technical requirements and realities of bringing a product to market. A business minded Designer that embraces the requirements brought by the business and transforms them into valuable equipment solutions. 

Their accountability more specifically consists of:
* Industrial Design Development: - Drives design development of business-critical programs. - Implements and continues to build existing Gatorade Athletic Equipment design language. - Works closely with the Design Sr Director, Design Sr manager, and Senior Designer across Athletic Equipment, packaging, and brand experience efforts. - Generates creative design solutions (strategies, concepts, prototypes, etc.) to help connect the dots with internal and external stakeholders.
* Design Project Management: - Responsible for delivering work that is of quality and always on-time. - Where external or internal partners are supporting, they must ensure design assets or prototypes are developed and delivered with the same quality, value, and timing expected of the Gatorade brand.
* Stakeholder Alignment: - In collaboration with the Design Sr Manager, will need to regularly generate presentations or support assets to review status of projects with the appropriate stakeholders, making sure Design, Business, Manufacturing partners and User expectations are always being met throughout the process.
* Embraces a Consumer Centric Approach: - Works with Sports Marketing and the Business to identify athlete/user opportunities, translates those needs into actionable design directions, and transforms them into meaningful and impactful design solutions.
* Responsible for generating design directions that help drive decision making: - Deliver design POV that navigates consumer needs, technical feasibility, marketing goals, and financial impact through the different phases of the project, ultimately delivering the right solution.
* Design Entrepreneurship: - Always encouraged to Identify opportunities beyond the expected business asks. - With the support of the Design Sr Director and Design Sr manager, self-initiates design efforts that have the potential to generate future value for Gatorade Athletic Equipment.
* External Design Network: - Supports Gatorade and PepsiCo in building and cultivating a strong external network of design and prototyping partners in support of Athletic Equipment rapid growth.
* Pipeline development: - Support the Design Sr Manager and Senior Designer in strategizing and developing the Athletic Equipment ecosystem and multi-year pipeline to continue meeting consumer + pro athlete needs while further expanding the reach of Athletic Equipment.

Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or equivalent.
* 2-5 years of Product Design experience in an agency or corporate environment with a strong portfolio of work that reflects this.
* Excellent sketching and visual communication skills.
* Capable of translating abstract, consumer centric insights into tangible hardware solutions.
* A form guru that balances purpose + strategy with the importance of making something ownable + desirable.
* High-proficiency in Solidworks 3D modelling; From early design all the way through Design for Manufacturing support.
* Understands the importance of rapid prototyping, whether it be 3D printing or quick, analogue mock-ups.
* Advanced 3D rendering skills, preferably in Keyshot and/or Blender, and experiences in using the Adobe Creative suite.
* Deep understanding of the engineering processes and product manufacturability.
* Ability to balance technical, design, and business requirements.
* Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders through presentations, written content, and verbal communication.
* Thrives in a fast-paced environment and performs well under risk and uncertainty.
* Ability to educate cross-functional team members (business, marketing, innovation teams) on the importance and value of Design.
* Entrepreneurial spirit with the desire to make a lasting impact in the world of athletes and sports.
