Position Title: Information Technology Intern
Reports To: Director, Global Tech Support

Status: Part-time, 28 hours per week, 8-12 weeks term
Position Summary
LanguageLine Solutions CSUMB Intern Program.
Who: We are looking for 1-2 Students with a background and interest in Computer Science, IT Networks and Systems, Data Analytics, and/or Software User Experience Program. We are specifically looking for bright students who have a can-do attitude are curious and ready to learn, contribute, and improve our life-critical interpreting services.
What: 2023 Summer Intern Program approximately 8-12 weeks and up to 28 hours per week with a rate of $18/hour.
Where: 1 Lower Ragsdale Drive, Bldg 2 (LanguageLine Solutions Headquarters.)
Qualifications
LanguageLine will try to match projects to the skills and interest of the interns. Project examples may include one or more of the following initiatives:
- Classifying and editing audio using Machine Learning - Develop Machine Learning models to analyze and classify audio files based on business requirements.
- Kibana Real-time Data Analytics - Work with live production data and E.L.K. stack technologies to create meaningful decision support systems, automated trending, and alarming visualizations.
- Helpdesk / Service Desk Optimization - Technical Support and Business Analysis for the creation of a 24/7 Technical Support Center. Global technical support will provide a service for interpreters and our clients for voice, mobile, and video applications. Obtain experience using Landesk management console for interpreter laptop imaging and inventory control/asset management.
- Software Code Development and Maintenance - Cap tracker is a previous CSUMB intern program application. Update our existing custom developed capitalized labor budget tracking application. Learn about back-office MIS application and budget handling of OpEx and CapEx expense management. Obtain experience using php and mysql.
- Automated Desktop Deployments - Utilize LANDesk, Active Directory, Remedyforce, Scripting tools and the Atlassian documentation suite of tools to support the imaging, deployment, and management of thousands of digital video workstations all over the world.
- Support LLS' Quality Management System (QMS) to continually improve the Division's processes, procedures and services; and thereby increase efficiency, productivity, effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
The minimum and maximum part-time hourly rate for this role is listed below, by location. Please note that this hourly rate information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations. Experience and education refer to LanguageLine Solutions' current hourly range for this position. US (remote) and US CA Monterey Headquarters pay is $18.00.
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual hourly rate amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
